Efficiency program launches for small commercial construction

Energy Trust of Oregon and Earth Advantage Institute announced a new program to bring energy efficiency expertise and third-party building certification to the the small commercial market.

A pilot for owners who construct office, school or retail buildings 10,000 to 70,000 square feet in size is the first of its kind in the state.

Eligible new construction or major renovation projects can receive design assistance and cash incentives from Energy Trust for designing and constructing an energy-efficient building, and can achieve certification as a green building for implementing a wide range of sustainable features developed by Earth Advantage Institute.

Energy Trust Small Commercial Efficiency pilot offers incentives for completing standard energy-saving solutions.

The partner program from Earth Advantage is the Earth Advantage Commercial certification, designed to bring the benefits of green building standards and certification to the small commercial market, traditionally underserved by existing certification programs.
