Solar Nation announces two Portland installations

Solar Nation announced two new solar installations on businesses in Portland totaling 73kW of generating capacity.

An appliance repair shop called the Appliance & Refrigeration Hospital, installed and commissioned a 42kW installation involving 240 solar panels on preexisting roof space. The installation will provide about 70 percent of the company's energy needs.

Metallion Industries Inc. of Estacada got a 31 kW system involving 176 rooftop panels to supply 89 percent of the energy needed for the 8-employee facility.

Solar Nation received a $2 million capital infusion late last year from a European investor. The company said it intends to establish a solar module assembly plant and that it had about $40 million in commercial solar installations in the pipeline.
