Brammo finds partner in Jackie Chan company
Electric motorcycle-maker Brammo Inc. on Monday said it will expand the company’s presence to Asia in a deal with a company co-founded by Jackie Chan.
Ashland-based Brammo formed a partnership with Chan’s JCAM Advanced Mobility Co. Ltd., a Hong Kong-based electric vehicle distributor. As part of the deal, JCAM will sell Brammo’s Enertia electric motorcycle in Hong Kong and Singapore by mid-2010.
In a news release, Brammo CEO Craig Bramscher said parterning with a film icon like Chan validates the company’s brand in a way that’s similar to the company’s U.S. partnership with electronics retailer Best Buy.
“When I first saw early pictures of the Enertia I really liked it,” Chan said in the news release. “Now that it is here, I love it. From the very beginning I knew this was going to be something really special.”
The Brammo Enertia has been on the market at certain Best Buy stores since August, priced at $7,995. It has a top speed of 60 mph, a range of 42 miles per charge, and takes about four hours to charge.
