Daimler says demand strong for cleaner-running trucks
Daimler Trucks North America LLC announced this week it has landed more than 10,000 orders for new vehicles equipped with new emissions technologies.
Daimler, which has its headquarters for Daimler Trucks North America in Portland, has placed its bet on Selective Catalytic Reduction emissions technology to meet 2010 emissions standards. Trucks equipped with the technology are able to keep emissions to near-zero levels of nitrogen oxide and particulate matter as measured at the tailpipe.
Every new Freightliner Cascadia, Coronado and M2 business-class medium-duty vehicles are now available with Detroit Diesel BlueTec or Cummins SCR emissions equipment.
“SCR is the industry’s premier solution for meeting the 2010 emission requirements, and our customers are already benefitting from the technology,” said David Hames, general manager, marketing and strategy for Daimler Trucks North America in a press release.
