'Green' pest control company expands

Pest control company Alpha Ecological has acquired three more companies as it pushes toward national expansion.

The Vancouver, Wash.-based company on Monday said it has bought Cascade Pest Control of McMinnville, Ideal Pest Control in Phoenix and Bug Busters in Tucson, Ariz.

The Cascade Pest Control deal closed Feb. 1. The two Arizona acquisitions were finalized last year, in May and November. Terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.

“We’re actively seeking to acquire,” CEO Scott Sneer said in a news release. “We want to grow nationally, so we’re starting in our existing markets where we’re strongest and expanding from there.”

Alpha Ecological was founded 24 years ago as a single office in Portland. It now has pest control services in 500 cities and 26 metro areas in six states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Arizona and Texas.

The company focuses primarily on environmentally sensitive residential pest control, though it also provides commercial services, bird exclusion, crawl space restoration and air duct cleaning.
