TriMet on Friday announced it received $2 million to buy new low-emission, high-efficiency hybrid buses.
Congressman Earl Blumenauer, D-Portland, Federal Transit Administration Deputy Administrator Therese McMilland and new TriMet General Manager Neil McFarlane announced the funding at a Friday morning press conference in North Portland.
The money comes from the Federal Transit Administration’s Bus Livability Project.
The new buses will operate on Line 72, which runs along Killingsworth and 82nd Avenue between Swan Island and Clackamas Town Center.
