Former Nike Inc. investor relations head Rick Anguilla has been hired by Naturally Advanced Technologies Inc.
Anguilla runs Portland-based Guidance Counsel LLC.
Naturally Advanced has signed a 12-month contract for investor relations with Guidance Counsel. It will pay Anguilla’s company a $10,000 monthly retainer. Naturally Advanced will also give Anguilla and principal Meredith Chase a total of 125,000 incentive stock options at $1.01 per option share.

After 10 years at Nike, Anguilla worked on the initial public offering of Baltimore-based competitor Under Armour.
Naturally Advanced is developing a process that turns burlap-like textiles such as hemp into a fabric as soft as cotton.
The Vancouver, B.C., company (OTCBB: NADVF) is led by Portland-based CEO Ken Barker, joint president of the local venture capital firm Meriwether Group and the former head of apparel for Adidas America.
The company had no sales in 2009 and relies on capital from equity offerings and debt financing.
Naturally Advanced Technologies Inc. on Tuesday said it has leased factory space in South Carolina.
Shares traded Thursday for 99 cents. They had a 52-week range between 80 cents and $1.55.
