Xzeres Wind Corporation announced Thursday it is expanding its reach by introducing two new small wind power systems for marine environments.
The two new units — 10-kilowattt and 2.5 kilowatt turbines — are designed to withstand high levels of salt and humidity in the air for marine, estuary and coastal environments.
In a press release, David N. Baker, Xzeres' chairman, indicated that the new products will allow the company to chase new markets.
"These marine systems expand our total addressable market and will enable us to begin to capitalize on system deployment opportunities for marine applications throughout the Asia Pacific region and globally," Baker said.
Xzeres, traded over the counter under the symbol XWND, announced in May the company had raised $4 million.
