Gov. Ted Kulongoski on Wednesday named former Secretary of State Bill Bradbury to the Pacific Northwest Electric Power and Conservation Planning Council. Bradbury will replace Melinda Eden, a two-term council member.
Created by the federal Northwest Power and Conservation Act in 1980, the council develops a 20-year electric power plan and develops a program to rebuild fish and wildlife populations affected by hydropower development on the Columbia River.
The council consists of eight members with two representatives each from Oregon, Washington, Montana and Idaho. Members are paid and serve three-year terms.
Pending approval by the Oregon Senate, Bradbury will begin his term Oct. 1.
