Vestas adds three to management lineup

Vestas added three names to its North American management roster Wednesday, hiring David Gels as vice president of quality and process excellence.
Vestas, which has its North American headquarters in Portland, also named Ramon Mendoza as warranty management chief specialist and David Sword as government relations director for Canada.
Gels joins Vestas from the health care industry. He spent eight years as director of business excellence for Philips Healthcare in Bothell, Wash. He's certified by Six Sigma and the American Society for Quality.
Mendoza returns to Vestas after a brief stint as a vice president with Stirling Energy Systems, a solar company. Prior to that he had a 15-year career with Vestas working his way up from field technician to vice president of technology.
Sword is an experienced public affairs representative from the Ontario energy sector.
Vestas employs some 3,000 people in the United States and Canada, including about 400 people in Portland. Vestas employs more than 20,000 people worldwide.
