New Seasons hires COO

New Seasons Market

New Seasons announces its first Washington store.

New Season Market announced Tuesday that the 10-store grocery chain hired Pat Brown to take over as chief operating officer, filling the spot vacated by Lisa Sedlar who was named CEO in December.

Brown started at Portland-based New Seasons on Feb. 28 and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, which is set to open its 11th store in the fall.

Brown joins New Seasons from Dallas-based Central Market, an eight-store grocery chain that emphasizes local and gourmet foods and mirrors New Seasons with its offer of cooking tips and live music. He served as director of retail operations for the chain which is owned by food retailer H-E-B.

"His accomplishments in the grocery industry and his commitment to community and sustainability make him the perfect match for us. Pat brings a dedication to taking care of customers and staff that is a great fit for New Seasons Market and I know he will be right at home in the Northwest," said Sedlar in a press release.
