Gordon Brinser, president, SolarWorld Industries America Inc. Flanked by both of Oregon’s U.S. senators and a Washington lawyer, Gordon Brinser in October kicked off what has grown into one of the most interesting trade debates of the decade and one that is sure to have a profound impact on the renewable energy industry. Leading the country’s largest solar manufacturing operation in Hillsboro, SolarWorld’s Brinser will continue to be a pivotal player to watch throughout the year.

Uncertainty abounds in the energy industry and it will be a pivotal year for many Oregon companies.

Legislated requirements are pulling utilities toward more renewable energy sources even while the incentives to support the construction of those sources at any scale are being drastically reduced.

Oregon has many leaders that are on the forefront of the renewable and alternative energy industry, from wind turbines to fuel cells, solar panels to power lines.
