This case describes the issues and challenges facing a natural beef cooperative in a turbulent moment in their industry. With a severe economic downturn, increasing certification/standards demands from various stakeholders and their management group in transition, the organization is faced with decisions which will have significant impact on their viability. The case highlights decisions related to overall organizational design, sustainability challenges in supply chain relationship management and new product innovations and the changing landscape in the food industry.
