Portland International Raceway is the home track for Portland-based MotoCyzysz's Segway racing team.
The TTXGP eGrandPrix race organization announced its 2012 race calendar and will come to Portland International Raceway in June for the second race of the North American series.
The eGrandPrix, the only carbon-free race for motorcycle speed enthusiasts, first planned to come to Portland last summer, an announcement cheered by Oregon's electric vehicle cluster. TTXGP ultimately cancelled plans for a Portland race last year but has committed to the June 23-24 dates for 2012.
Portland International Raceway is billed as the home track for the MotoCzysz-Segway racing team and it's also the home state for Brammo Inc. of Ashland, which also boasts a robust racing program. Last year MotoCzysz and Brammo split top honors for the eGrandPrix series.
The 2012 schedule also includes a first-ever world final at the Daytona International Raceway in Florida. That race will pit top winners from the race's European, Australian and North American series and will take place in October.
