Gallery: The full-diet farm at work
By Cathy Cheney
C'est Naturelle Farms added pigs to its inventory when the operation shifted to a full-diet business model. The farm can feed a full menu of local food to up to 150 people.
When members of C'est Naturelle Farms' CSA program left Vernie and William DeMille with hundreds of pounds of quickly spoiling extra produce, they knew there had to be a better way.
That's when the DeMille family remade C'est Naturelle into a full-diet farm, selling memberships that are capable of providing a family table with a full menu of fresh, local food on a year-round basis.
The Oregon City farm is currently gearing up for the 2012-13 farm season — full-diet memberships begin in July.
Take a look at the gallery of photos by Portland Business Journal Photographer Cathy Cheney to see what a full-diet farm looks like on the ground.
