An early leader in green building, embracing the rating system for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design put out by the U.S. Green Building Council, Oregon has a firm foundation in all aspects of the sustainable built environment.
But what this list shows is that Oregonians are continuing to break new ground where green, efficient buildings and neighborhoods are concerned. From district-wide innovation to the latest trends in net-zero energy to the big differences made by the tiniest microbes, these leaders are putting Oregon on the map with their ideas.
