A team of sustainability professionals came together to form GlobalEdge Solutions. The firm, announced this week, will help businesses and organizations move their operation toward greener practices.

A Portland based trio — Jon Blumenauer, Patsy Feeman, Dave Newman — are teaming up with Dave Guernsy, a former senior sustainability manager for UPS, in Atlanta and Chris Gilbert, former provost of the Bainbridge Graduate Institute, in Seattle.

The practice will focus on reporting and implementing sustainable changes throughout organizations and will also focus on helping companies engage employees in the process.

"We've talked to a lot of global companies that have done great work embedding and integrating sustainability into their operations and they tell us, 'But our employees aren't on board,'" Feeman said. "The people piece is probably the next place companies are going to be looking."

GlobalEdge will work with strategic partners Minneapolis-based KRW International and Portland-based Brink Communications to help clients manage and communicate changes to their business practices.

The firm's first clients include a global medical supply company and a Northwest municipality.
