Terry Miller is is a graduate of Yale’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. He will serve as interim director of The Climate Trust.
The Climate Trust on Wednesday named Terry Miller as interim director of the carbon market-focused nonprofit while a search is made for a permanent executive.
Ben Vitale, hired in late 2009 as The Climate Trust's president, announced in January plans to leave the organization.
An expert in green building and energy efficiency, Miller comes to the trust from Conservation Services Group where he led Energy Trust of Oregon's existing homes program. The contract for that program moved from Conservation Services to Portland-based Fluid Market Strategies last fall.
Starting Feb. 11, Miller took over management of The Climate Trust.
"Our successful leadership team at The Climate Trust is made up of a diverse group of talented professionals, and I am fortunate to now take part in the critical works of this mission-driven organization," Miller said in a statement.
Laura Beane, chairwoman of The Climate Trust board of directors, is leading the search for a permanent executive director.
