Visual map shows concentration of Portland's bike commuters

John Nelson, a designer behind data driven maps that provide visual illustrations of how people move around cities, has taken on the Portland bike commute.
As FastCo.Exist reports, "Nelson started fielding inquiries from cyclists (especially Portlanders), wondering what their hometowns might look like in one of his maps."
So last month, Nelson took Bicycle Magazine's top bike-friendly cities — Portland ranks No. 2 behind Minneapolis — and applied his mapping techniques to each community.
The results, posted on Nelson's website, are fascinating. Blue people-dots show bikers, green people-dots show walkers, and gray people-dots show all other commuters whatever their method of getting around may be.
