The first-place winner in Act-On's "hackathon" will win a brewery tour.
Act-On Software is gearing up for its first “Gamify Green for Good” Hackathon.
The April 6 event will gather Portland-area coders, developers and designers who will work on software and programming for what the company calls “solutions to real-world problems.”
Participants will create interfaces with mobile, Web and social apps. Judges will evaluate each project for creativity, practical use and how well the project benefits the community.
The day-long festivities, which will also feature “craft beer and (Pabst that) will flow freely,” will conclude with an 11 p.m awards ceremony. The grand prize is a private Brewvana Brewery tour for five and a donation to a charity or nonprofit of the winner’s choice.
Act-On Software is a cloud-based marketing specialist.
