The Portland-based nonprofit that organizes fledgling clean energy supporters has released an ebook that provides a comprehensive lowdown on power usage.
Focus the Nation hopes 10,000 people will read "The Watt?" by the end of the year. The book is an energy primer that Focus the Nation's Executive Director Garett Brennan considers "a starting point to becoming a more active and energy-literate citizen."
Brennan said college students increasingly want to know more about energy issues. The book provides details on how energy can cause, and solve, problems, as well as the industry's coming challenges. It also provides sections on supply and infrastructure, a history of the growth and impact of fossil fuels and analyses of renewable energy types.
The book costs $4.99.
Brennan, recognized recently by Good magazine for his contributions to the sustainability world, will sit on a Stanford University panel this week to talk about "The WATT?" and other Focus the Nation initiatives.
