The Portland Sustainability Institute has undergone a makeover in both name and strategies.

The urban sustainability group will now be known as EcoDistricts, a moniker that, according to Executive Director Rob Bennett, “sums up our shared vision for creating sustainable cities from the neighborhood up.”

As such, EcoDistricts is also creating a new platform that’ll provide advocacy, technical assistance and research.

The group will continue to offer incubator and practitioner training, the EcoDistricts Summit —which takes place in Boston this November — and the Target Cities program.

EcoDistricts also launched a new website this week. It further revealed the eight cities that’ll participate in the group’s Incubator 2013 program.
