Portland Roasting gets all animated with new report

You’ve got to like, if not love, Portland Roasting Coffee’s ingenuity.
The company released its latest sustainability report this week, and it comes in a completely different package. That is, the report comes, at least partly, in the form of an animated short detailing the roaster’s various pro-environment methods.
Whereas Portland Roasting does offer the report in more traditional written form, the animated short deftly reveals Portland Roasting’s thinking behind some of its strategies.
Those strategies include deploying green packaging, tracking the type of transportation used to procure the beans and reporting the carbon emissions yielded through the supply process.
“We try to be as transparent as possible about our environmental efforts and our social outreach programs so that our customers can see and measure the impact of the programs we initiate,” said Andy Davis, a marketing associate for Portland Roasting. “This transparency clearly illustrates where our efforts are working and helps us identify the places where we fall short.”
The report further shows which metrics were used to track Portland Roasting’s overall environmental impact.
