Happy Plug In Day: EV lovers get their own holiday

Oregon's electric vehicle enthusiasts will be marking an obscure, but potentially powerful (pun intended), series of national events on Saturday.

National Plug In Day aims to celebrate the advent of EV charging stations, including the quick charge options popping up along the West Coast. To mark the occasion, Travel Oregon is touting several itineraries that EV drivers can use to tool around the state.

The trips include chargers at least every 25 to 50 miles along the routes.

The trips include jaunts through the North Willamette Valley's wine country, a jag around Southern Oregon's Rogue River and a drive that takes motorists through several covered bridges.
