Powin Energy officials said this week the company’s Tualatin facility will build three fast-charging stations for electric vehicles for Kanematsu USA.
The wholly owned subsidiary of Powin Corp. (OTC QB: PWON) will craft stations that have the capacity to power a Nissan Leaf to an 80 percent charge within 30 minutes. The first unit will be installed in Oregon and the other two units are tentatively scheduled to be installed in Hawaii.
Powin had worked with EV4 Oregon and Portland-based OpConnect, which is also working on a Hawaiian arrangement, on an Oregon project in 2012.
No terms of the agreement were immediately available.
