Know of any great green companies that could use a little recognition?
Our deadline for the Sustainable Business Oregon Innovation in Sustainability Awards is barreling toward us (it’s actually Friday), and while we’ve already collected a slew of great nominations, we’re looking for as many more as we can get.
We’ll take a look at innovations in the following sections:
Energy, in which we’ll honor those who’ve proven to be good in terms of kilowatt hours of energy save or the percentage of energy derived from renewable sources, among other factors.
Equity, in which we’ll fete persons or companies adept in the realms of community service, civic engagement, hiring practices, health care and benefits for employees, hours volunteered, dollars donated, diversity training and education, engagement with underserved communities.
Food, a category that will salute such areas as local sourcing and supply chain usage, along with responsible waste management.
Natural environment, for which we’re seeking metrics that gauge a project or organization’s work.
Transportation, for those businesses that want to reduce vehicle usage and miles traveled, as well as promote low-carbon transportation.
Waste, for the groups that recover high percentages of would-be landfill materials, for example.
Water, in which water-savers will get their due.
The deadline to nominate worthy companies and individuals is this Friday, Sept. 27. Click here for the nomination form.
