It'll get beta: B Labs seeks testers for next impact measurement

The group that introduced the term “B Corp” into the sustainability world’s vernacular wants companies to test a beta measurement system that could help determine new accountability measures.
B Labs officials said this week they’re beta-testing the next version of the B Impact Assessment. To do so, they’re inviting businesses looking to gauge their own sustainability performance to take a free run through the system.
The testing, which allows companies to measure their social and environmental impact, will run for 30 days.
The B Impact Assessment examines a business’s overall effect on workers, suppliers, customers, community, and the environment. Some 8,000 businesses have registered to use the B Impact Assessment.
Oregon counts nearly 40 companies that have achieved B Corp status.
