This weekend Portland plays host to the 2011 Net Impact Conference.
Over 2,000 professionals are expected to converge on the Oregon Convention Center for the three-day event, a chance for hundreds of satellite Net Impact chapters to meet face-to-face. The annual conference also serves to strengthen the organization's mission: to engage a new generation in leveraging business career roles to make transformational change.
Although much of the conference will focus on specific topics such as the future of the smart grid and developing value from waste streams, a lens will also be placed on five Portland organizations that are faced with complex business challenges and opportunities.
Sustainable Business Oregon produced a video for this group, dubbed Portland Impact. Profiling the selected organizations, the video sheds light on what unique opportunities the Portland region offers to burgeoning mission-driven businesses and non-profits.
Portland Impact organizations:
- Portland Pedal Power
- Upstream Public Health
- Focus the Nation
- The Bus Project
