Meet the new Case Study Cache

Jacqueline Vo

Jacqueline Vo is a Portland State University graduate student and an intern for Sustainable Business Oregon.

As part of its mission, Sustainable Business Oregon maintains a store of resources and serves as a starting point for anyone in business who wants to learn about how sustainable practices can make a difference in both their daily operations and their bottom line.

Extending our goal for SBO to serve as both a hub for news and a forum for the exchange of ideas on topics of vital interest for people who care about sustainability in business, we are excited to introduce a new section: the university Case Study Cache.

This new resource exists to provide case studies from Oregon universities in the area of sustainable business, and to promote a collaborative relationship between businesses and universities. The new section was created with the intent for leaders and change agents in the community to connect and share innovative tools and best practices. It's also an effective way to showcase some of the great work being done in Oregon's business schools.

The goals of the Case Study Cache are:

  • To continue to proliferate sustainability in Oregon.
  • To heighten awareness of innovative business case studies.
  • To promote university involvement in sustainability.
  • To provide businesses the opportunity to connect with potential prospects.
  • To augment resources that support businesses and universities in Oregon.

To kick off the new section, Portland State University has provided selected case studies that were published this year including a case on our very own Northwest-based restaurant chain Burgerville USA; a case on a handcrafted furniture company headquartered in Portland, Tropical Salvage; and a case conducted in the plains of Nepal.

If you are involved with sustainable business research at an Oregon university and would like to participate in the Case Study Cache project, please email us at info *at* sustainablebusinessoregon.com.
