When it comes to cleantech investing, few financial pros have as much insight as Bill Page. The senior vice president and portfolio manager for Essex Investment Management LLC oversees the firm's global environmental opportunities strategy. He's a founder board member of the Energy + Environment Foundation who also led State Street Global Advisors' environmental, social and governance investment team.
Here's what Page has to say about cleantech investing and other industry developments.
John Wrenn: Why is now the time to invest in clean tech?
Bill Page: We are very constructive on the prospects for clean tech equity investing at this time. We manage the Essex Global Environmental Opportunities Strategy (GEOS), which is a listed, all-cap global equity strategy that invests across nine clean tech themes, leveraged to new energy infrastructure and de-carbonization. We believe clean technology equity investing makes sense from a classical asset allocation perspective at this time.
