Clean-economy leadership roster seeks nominations

Cleantech venture capital firm Pivotal Investments opened the second nomination round for its Pivotal Leaders program, an effort to build a network of executives and entrepreneurs working in the cleantech-related sector in the Pacific Northwest.

In its second iteration, the 2011 Pivotal Leaders will be selected through an online nomination and peer-review process. Nominations are open through March 22 at www.pivotal-leaders.com.

"We want to expand our network," said Gregg Semler, managing director at Pivotal Investments."There are new leaders who have come into the market in the last year."

Aaron Goldfeder, a Seattle-based entrepreneur who was on the inaugural Pivotal Leaders list, attributed a recent funding round closed by his company, EnergySavvy, in part to activities associated with the network. EnergySavvy, which promotes energy efficiency through technology and incentive programs, closed a $1.1 million investment round in December.

The program is sponsored by Perkins Coie, Ernst & Young, the University of Oregon and the Portland Development Commission.
