Strata trying again for utility solar in N.C.

Strata Solar continues to push for construction of larger-scale solar projects, seeking authorization from North Carolina regulators for two additional 5-megawatt solar farms, including one in Rockingham County.

“We are pretty bullish on the future of solar,” he says. “We are not slowing down, and we see nothing that should slow us down.”

However, Chapel Hill-based Strata has decided to drop plans for one solar farm it previously proposed. Schooff says the company has run into some development issues in the early planning for the 5-megawatt H Creek Farm planned for Lincoln County and does not plan to move forward with that venture.
