Cleantech investment down 33%

Investment in clean tech companies fell 33 percent to $5.6 billion in major markets in 2009 from the prior year, according to preliminary findings by the Cleantech Group and Deloitte.

Cleantech companies raised the money in 557 deals in North America, Europe, China and India in 2009. Experts in the industry say that commitment to the sector remains high, in part because of government incentives being handed out in the form of tax incentives for clean tech projects.
