Georgia biomass plant on hold
The conversion of a coal-fired power plant in Georgia to a biomass plant is on hold due to uncertainties over federal regulations.
The planned retrofit the 155-megawatt coal-burning plant to burn biomass fuel with 96 megawatts of generating capacity is waiting on the Environmental Protection Agency to issue rules about industrial boilers such as the one that will be used in the project.
