Small business owners cry foul to EPA

Reactions to tougher smog laws proposed by the EPA have been reverberating through the business community all week and now the Small Business Association has come forward to say that the new rules will be too tough and financially burdensome for small businesses.

Under the new proposed ruling, at least 1,200 small entities would have to acquire Clean Air Act operating permits for the first time, according to a statement filed with the E.P.A. by the advocacy office of the Small Business Association. In addition, the largest U.S. farm group called on Congress on Tuesday to prevent the government from regulating greenhouse gases if lawmakers kill climate change legislation. (Read the full report via Reuters.)
