Westar acquires wind energy site (Wichita)

Westar Energy Inc. announced Tuesday it has acquired development rights for a new wind energy farm in Kansas.

The deal is with Infinity Wind Power and will allow for development of up to 500 megawatts of wind energy at the Ironwood site near Spearville, 180 miles west of Wichita.
