Arizona forms state commission on climate change (Phoenix)
Private industry will have plenty seats at the table for a new panel Gov. Jan Brewer is putting together has she scales back Arizona’s participation in a regional climate change program.
Brewer issued an executive order this week adjusting Arizona’s participation in the Western Climate Initiative. That regional effort looked for member states to cut emissions and meet goals.
Brewer’s order looks to place greater focus on the economic impacts of climate change polices and notes her opposition to cap-and-trade policies.
