Hawaii’s energy-related stimulus funds reach $134 million (Honolulu)
Hawaii’s share of federal stimulus dollars for energy-related projects has reached $134 million.
The funds, which were previously pegged at $50 million, include contracts and grants to private companies as well as for programs administered by the state’s Energy Office within the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.
Nationally, $67 billion has been awarded for energy initiatives through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the $787 billion federal stimulus package enacted by Congress last February.
