NOAA reorganization provides more info on global warming

The Obama administration proposed a new National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Climate Service on Monday, reorganizing the agency so it can provide Americans with predictions on how global warming will affect everything from drought to sea levels.

Officials envision the new service as one similar to the National Weather Service, a platform on which a number of different weather-related services have been built.

"We currently respond to millions of annual requests for climate information, and we expect those requests to grow exponentially," NOAA administrator Jane Lubchenco said in an interview.
