Old jeans get new life as insulation (Sacramento)
A mulch manufacturer in Sacramento is counting on a new product — insulation made from recycled denim — to boost its revenue this year.
Fiberwood LLC has signed deals with two companies to help manufacture and distribute the spray-on insulation, made from cardboard and recycled cotton fibers. Fiberwood signed an agreement with Soex, which buys used clothing from charities and recycles it for use in carpet padding and insulation.
