PG&E converted coal plant deal approved (San Francisco)

Pacific Gas & Electric Co.’s contract to buy renewable power for 15 years from a converted coal plant was approved today by the California Public Utilities Commission.

Under the agreement the Mt. Poso Cogeneration facility in Bakersfield will be retrofitted to produce power from urban and agricultural wood waste.
