River Hill Coal working on green mining (Pittsburgh)
Jacob Hanchar tried to leave the coal mining business. The 30-year-old went to California and earned a doctorate degree in biology, but the pull of the family business was strong.
He’s now the fourth generation of Hanchars to be involved in Pennsylvania coal mining.

Hanchar is laying the foundation for his company to grow into the green economy that he thinks will power the next generation.
