Skykonic wins $3M for carbon capture (Austin)
Skyonic Corp. received a $3 million stimulus grant from the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Energy Technology Laboratory.
Austin-based Skyonic applied under the competitive “Carbon Capture and Sequestration from Industrial Sources and Innovative Concepts for Beneficial CO2 Use” grant, company officials said.
Skyonic, founded in 2005, developed a system that transforms carbon dioxide emissions from power plants into environmentally safe sodium bicarbonate. The company employs five workers.
