Baltimore County launches clean energy incubator

Baltimore County is launching a business incubator specifically for companies developing clean energy technologies.

The Clean Energy Technology Incubator will be at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County’s Biotech Building in Catonsville. It includes 18,000 square feet of office and laboratory space into which five companies are signed up to move.

The incubator will focus on renewable energy, biofuels, smart grid technology, electric vehicles, cybersecurity and energy policy.

“By growing our own companies, we’ll add new green jobs to our economy, while supporting the discovery of new technologies that will further our commitment to a sustainable environment,” County Executive Jim Smith said in a statement.

For a list of companies in the incubator, read the post in the Baltimore Business Journal.
