Phoenix solar firm grows with acquisitions
Solar companies are sprouting up all over the Valley, and one West Valley operation has made mergers and acquisitions a key part of its growth strategy.
Salt River Solar & Wind LLC was launched about 15 months ago in Surprise. It already has 100 employees and could add as many as 50 more within a month.
The company has built a foundation on the remnants of several businesses cobbled together to produce a solar installation enterprise that’s producing $4 million to $5 million of business a month.
It’s a sharp turnaround for its predecessor, Custom Choice Electric Co., which rode the wave of new home construction for more than six years and managed to survive just long enough to get an infusion of capital for a change of direction.
