Scientific Conservation raises $5M (San Francisco)
Scientific Conservation Inc. named a new CEO and raised $5 million in its first round of venture funding.
The Berkeley company makes building management software that can detect problems with appliances and other equipment before a machine fails or causes problems. The company boasts its customers enjoy energy savings of as much as 25 percent.
The company named Russ McMeekin, former CEO of Progressive Gaming International, as CEO.
It raised $5 million from Draper Fisher Jurvetson, a Menlo Park-based venture capital firm.
