Wind-turbine parts maker Aluwind to open Colorado plant
A Danish manufacturer of aluminum parts for wind turbines and towers, Aluwind Inc., is opening its first American manufacturing plant in Castle Rock, the town's Economic Development Council said Thursday.
The company, based in Ringe, Denmark, supplies three of the top four wind turbine manufacturers in the world, said Frank Gray, president and CEO of the Castle Rock Economic Development Council.
"They wanted a location between what [Vestas] was doing in Pueblo and what they're doing in Brighton," Gray said.
Vestas Wind Systems, another Danish wind turbine manufacturer which has its U.S. headquarters in Portland, has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in manufacturing plants in Colorado.
