Yingli lands 10 MW supply contract (San Francisco)
Yingli Green Energy announced today an agreement to sell 10 megawatts of solar panels to SunDurance Energy of New Jersey.
Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited (NYSE: YGE) based in Baoding, China, opened regional headquarters in San Francisco and New York last year. The company is one of several Chinese solar manufacturers that plans to open manufacturing space in the United States in coming months. The company is in negotiations to open a factory between Phoenix and Austin, Texas that will employ about 300 people and said it plans to be producing solar panels in the U.S. by the start of 2011.
Robert Petrina, managing Director of Yingli Green Energy Americas, said the agreement with SunDurance proves that Yingli has traction in the U.S. market.
