American Superconductor Corp. has landed a $20 million initial order for electrical control systems wind turbines from India’s Ghodawat Energy Pvt. Ltd.

Devens, Mass.-based AMSC will start shipping parts under the deal in the middle of this year, officials said.

Ghodawat operates wind turbine farms in four states in India. The company, which is the renewable energy arm of Sanjay Ghodawat Group, runs more than 150 wind turbines that produce more than 100 megawatts of electricity.
