AT&T unveils natural gas vehicles (Milwaukee)

AT&T unveiled several compressed natural gas vehicles at Discovery World in Milwaukee on Monday as part of a campaign to make its nationwide fleet more fuel efficient over the next eight years, according to a company news release.

The company has deployed 42 compressed natural gas vehicles in the Milwaukee area as part of a $565 million commitment announced in March 2009 to replace more than 15,000 of its 77,000 fleet vehicles with more fuel-efficient models through 2018.

The commitment includes an expected $350 million to purchase about 8,000 compressed natural gas vehicles over a five-year period, representing the largest commitment to compressed natural gas to date by a U.S. company, the news release said.
